Today I have about 17 days until I am due, and I am soo ready to have our little boy. I have been trying to keep my mind off of the due date but it is like a big fat elephant in the room staring at me with his huge ears saying hahahaha. LOL It is interesting this week because I have been feeling pretty great for the last month but this week hit me like a freight train! I have pain in places that I don't even want to mention =). I hope that this is my body's way of saying the baby's on it's way. I have to share a funny experience I had at the hospital in the out-patient services. My blood type is O negative and so my OB had to order a rhogham for me. My apt. was set for 11:30 on friday morning last week, when I got to the hospital I got a little lost and passed the sign in desk for the outpatient like 5 times, the nurses and I had quite the laugh (very typical of me). So they ask me to wait in this room that is pretty small with a bunch of chairs in it. When I walked in I was surrounded by lots of elderly people and I felt so bad because they were all hooked up to machines with blood and platelettes stuff and I thought am I in the right room? I love older people because they do have some of the best stories but I really thought I am pregnant and 25 and I was a little nervous because I thought did my OB order the right thing!LOL So I sat down in one of these big ol reclining chair things and when I did I couldn't get back up because I am 37 weeks preggers and let me tell you when a chairs leans back into the north 40 it is NOT, let me reiterate NOT comfortable or easy to get back out! I was also a little nervous and when I get that way and become like the entertainment.... I act pretty goofy, like a nervous goofiness. So I am sitting in the most uncomfortable chair and it is about 12:15 by now and the nurse sitting at the check-in tells me that she has called down to the lab and they are on their way up, so another 15 minutes passes by and the nurses coming in and out (who were super cute and bubbly ladies) were joking about how people come here all the time to get blood and platelette things done but whenever somebody comes to get a simple shot or blood drawn that it takes forever! So the poor nurse at the front desk calls down again and apparently the lab is confused and they also see that before they can bring the shot up they need to have updated records of my blood type. We are now sitting at 1:15 (almost 2 hours for this shot LOL) and the lab finally gets someone up to the room to take my blood. Then she says "someone will be up here shortly to give you your shot" hmm.... I think that there must be a different definition for shortly here LOL. Now one thing I did forget to mention is that in this room there is absolutely NOTHING to do, no mags, no tv, nada.... and when I had left that morning I thought that at the most it would be like an hour apt (because for real it is a hospital) and so I thought I would wait to eat lunch until I got back...... yeah not good. I was soo hungry that I was about to eat.... well anything. At the end of my journey at the hospital I had been there for about 3 hours and the shot that I thought wasn't going to hurt (because of previous encounters with it the first time I had a baby) hurt like CRAZY and the nurse admitted that the lab had used a much bigger needle than they usually do (great). But after all of that I left laughing because it was just soo ridiculous, and after all... life is too short so, laugh at it!
